Eye Lift Cost
The personal decision to fine-tune your face with a cosmetic procedure is generally the easy part. Finding out the exact cost of the work you have in mind, however, may be more difficult. Bear in mind that all procedures are individualized to a degree. That fact, and the experience level and reputation of the surgeon will all have a bearing on the final price.
The level of competition in the cosmetic surgery field has led to some price stability. With eye lift costs, however, there are some specifics of which you should be aware. The eye lift is, in industry terms, a near-perfected procedure. The surgery has been performed for years, and thus standardized, with an upper and under eye lift costing in the neighborhood of $4,500.
Price Gouging
It is common in the industry, however, for doctors, at the time of your eye lift consultation, to quote a price and then to recommend other procedures that can be performed simultaneously to remove wrinkles and blemishes. The reason is simply that eye lift surgery is so simple that it pairs nicely with other procedures.
Don’t let this conversation upset you or send your self-esteem down to rock bottom. They’re not saying you need more work, just that an eye lift is an excellent opportunity to have more work if you want it. The major thing to remember is that in your enthusiasm, you can fail to pay attention and before you know it, the budget for your simple eye lift has tripled.
Getting your money's worth
How far can these kinds of scenarios go? Take a “for instance.” If the eye lift itself cost $4,500, and the surgeon suggests a brow lift, tack on another $5,000. Laser skin resurfacing? An additional $3,000. Suddenly, your small, elective surgery has turned into the equivalent of buying a new car.
It all boils down to self-discipline. You will get your money’s worth with a simple eye lift. The only other single procedure that so effectively changes your overall countenance is rhinoplasty or a “nose job.” Because the results of an eye lift are, in their own right, so dramatic, it might be better to wait. See how satisfied you are with the single procedure and then decide, in consulation with your surgeon, if you want additional work.
Don’t Fail to Consider Ancillary Costs
Make sure that when you get a quote from a cosmetic surgeon the price also considers all the ancillary fees for such things as the surgical center, the anesthesiologist, lab work, X-rays, and pre- and post-surgical medications. Also factor in any wages lost to your recovery period. Only when you add up all these amounts will you have a true picture of the total cost of your eye lift.
Some doctors will offer package deals -- and these can offer high value because you’re not paying the ancillary costs twice. Just be careful to evaluate all the expenses to make sure that you are getting the lowest possible total price. And don’t get caught up in your own enthusiasm and pay for work or services you don’t really need. Eye lift results are so dramatic and so positive, this is an excellent procedure to start with and may be all you actually decide to do.
