- Increase collagen production to firm the breasts.
The BRAVA® Breast Enhancement and Shaping System in particular has drawn acclaim recently. Essentially a bra outfitted with a pump, the device applies a gentle, sustained tension on the breasts, which causes the cells to replicate and to produce new breast tissue.
This device was invented by Harvard-trained plastic surgeon, Dr. Roger Khouri. Unlike many devices that promise quick fixes, the BRAVA® has better credibility because of the time investment required. It claims that women who are an AA to B cup and want to grow one breast size can benefit from Brava over a 10 to 12-week period. However, the cost of the device is expensive - $2500, with the price comparable to breast enhancement plastic surgery procedures. Also it works slowly and needs to be used for maximum effectiveness, for about 6 months 12 hours per day. Gains are modest, on average, women gain from 1/4 to 1/2 cup even after following all the guidelines faithfully. Results are not permanent.
